This is a nine hole golf course set in parkland with rocky outcrop. There is natural drainage due to limestone rock which also makes the course very unique and enables us to stay open continually. There are panoramic views over the small market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and surrounding countryside. The course is Par 70 - 5666 yards with not long holes but tight fairways. This is a privately owned golf course owned and run by John and Elizabeth Makinson. We have been running the course since 1991. Prior to 1991, for almost forty years, Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club rented the land for a course before they moved to a new site at Barbon. Since 1991 the course has been radically altered and extended. New tees and greens have been built and in 1996 we opened a purpose built clubhouse with changing facilities, shop and all day catering. The course is maintained to a high standard and as the land drains well we do not have a lot of problems with the weather. We have a practice area, driving net and putting green.
