Facilities Update 21/10/2020:
Casterton Golf Course is in Cumbria which is in Tier 1 restrictions. Our neighbouring county, Lancashire is in the very-high alert tier. Guidance from Golf England says : “Golfers should try to avoid travelling outside the high/very-high alert level area you are in or entering a high/very-high alert level area, other than to travel through on a longer journey”.  England Golf have said it is only “guidance” regarding travel between areas and have not categorically said people can’t cross boundaries to play golf – individuals are to determine if they follow guidelines or clubs should impose their own restrictions.

Casterton Golf Course will respect peoples individual decisions over the“guidelines” and will keep this in review going forward. We do insist that :

– Players must not under any circumstances come to the course if they or anyone in their household have any symptoms of COVID-19, they have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 within the last 2 weeks or they
have been told they must self isolate.
– Players must strictly observe the rules on social distancing, sanitising hands and wearing masks.
– Players should observe the rules about household mixing that are in place in their own area of residence while at the course. ie. Those in tier 2 and 3 should not socialise indoors with anyone outside their own household.
– Players should use the online booking system to book their golf so that we can record who has been to the course and on which days in case of an outbreak of Covid-19 at the course.
– Where possible players should scan the track and trace QR code on the clubhouse door each time they play.

The changing rooms are not open and shoes need to be changed in the carpark. Once on the course players must maintain a safe social distance from other groups and staff. The flag should be left in the hole and not touched. Ball washers, rakes and other golf course furniture will not be in use. Bunkers should be smoothed with a club or foot after play.

At Casterton Golf Course the safety of our staff and customers is paramount, I trust that you will all behave in accordance with the restrictions and allow golf to continue at Casterton.
